Welcome to Catherine Tirran portfolio.
I am currently a Lead Animator at Ubisoft Montreal, Canada. I worked in video game industry since 1999. Starting from Graphist to Animator, to finally be a Lead Animator in 2004, my overall understanding of the character pipeline production (modeling, rigging, skinning, animation) allow me to be a proficient artistic team leader, great at planning evaluation, communicating with other departments, overseeing problems and finding solutions.
I had the chance to work on 7 released games from the beginning to end, so I often supervised tools production, animation system development and cinematics realisation. I have also experience in outsourcing. I believe that a deep understanding of code constraints and gamedesign rules is primordial to achieve a great ingame artistic result.
As a Lead Animator, I always make sure that my team is aware of the project Art Direction and technical contraints to keep a good artistic unity. Being aware of technicals demands and artistics suggestions of each animator take a great part in my job. It's important for me that my team members be efficient and happy to participate to the project.
Bring characters to life, raise technical challenges, work within a motivated and cohesive team on creative projects, that's what I am looking for.
